Classmate Pc vs. ASUS EEEPC

Yesterday, I was just googling around and looking for new technologies coming out and I came across this tiny pc called Classmate PC...I went back and checked the specs of the popular EEPC  from ASUS and compared it with this new gadget...

Here's the breakdown...



Classmate PC

Processor - Intel ® Mobile Processor ULV 900 MHz, Zero L2 cache, 400 MHz FSB
Storage Device 1 GB Flash (for Linux), 2GB
Memory - DDR -II 256 MB or 512 MB
Operating System - Windows XP Professional / Linux
Network - 10/100M Ethernet + 802.11 b/g WLAN with Antenna

ASUS Eee PC

Processor - 900 MHz (factory underclocked to 630 MHz) [1] [2] Intel Celeron-M ULV 353, fan
Media - 2/4/8 GB flash memory
Memory - 512 MB/512 MB/1 GB DDR2-667RAM (2G/4G/8G)
Operating System - Linux Xandros,Windows XP 
Network - 10/100 Mbit Ethernet 802.11b/g wireless LAN3 USB 2.0 ports MMC/SD card reader

My take...

For the design I'll go with Classmate...
For the price I'll go with Asus...
This is not official but I heard that ASUS is selling for P17K while P19k for Classmate PC...

Technical Specs are almost the same but Classmate has a pre installed MS Office while Asus has Open Office... 
I watched TV Patrol last night and TJ Manotoc reported that Classmate PC has a 30gig HDD for the Second Generation released last April 3...Pretty cool...

So there, maybe you want a new tiny pc to play with, check these two charmers out....
